Imam Ibn al-Qayyim (rahimahullah) said, the benefits of abandoning sin or sinful acts:
Beauty increases.
Gains honor in the hearts of people.
If previously harmed by people, he will receive help and protection from them.
If people have backbitten him, his honor will be preserved.
Allah accepts his supplications.
Closeness to Allah Ta’ala.
Closeness to the angels.
The devils among humans and jinn will distance themselves.
People will compete to help him, fulfill his needs, and to gain his companionship and love.
He will not fear death; rather, he will be eager to meet Allah Ta’ala and to receive His rewards.
The world will seem insignificant to him, and the Hereafter will appear immensely valuable.
He will strive for great sovereignty and status in the Hereafter.
He will regain the taste of obedience to Allah.
He will feel the sweetness of faith.
He will receive the supplication of the angels who bear the Throne and the angels who praise Allah around the Throne.
The two angels, Kiraman Katibin, will be pleased with him and will supplicate for him.
Knowledge, wisdom, and faith will increase.
He will attain the love of Allah.
He will long to meet Allah.
He will be content with living a pure life through repentance.
Allah will grant him such happiness and peace that he was deprived of when he was involved in sin.

Hadith: The Sweetness of Faith
Narrated from Anas (RA):
The Prophet (ﷺ) said:
Three qualities, whoever possesses them, will taste the sweetness of faith:
That Allah and His Messenger are dearer to him than everything else;
That he loves a person only for the sake of Allah;
That he hates to return to disbelief as he would hate to be thrown into the Fire.

Hadith: The One Who Dies with True Belief Will Enter Paradise
Narrated from ‘Uthman (RA):
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
Whoever dies while having the belief in his heart that there is no true deity except Allah, he will enter Paradise. [28]
Muhammad ibn Abu Bakr al-Muqaddami (RA) … ‘Uthman (RA) said that he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say something similar … the remainder is like the above hadith.

Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jama‘ah say: If a person, after sincerely believing in the Kalimah and affirming Allah’s Oneness, commits major sins, then one day he will be released from Hell. But the Khawarij and the Mu‘tazilah sects say that due to major sins he will remain eternally in Hell.

Hadith: Allah’s Nearness to His Servant

“When My servant draws near to Me by a handspan, I draw near to him by an arm’s length. And when he draws near to Me by an arm’s length, I draw near to him by two arm’s lengths. If he comes to Me walking, I go to him running.”
