Dua for Baby, How to Congratulate Parents on a Newborn Baby in Islam

Congratulating Someone on Being Blessed with a Child and Its Reply

May Allah bless for you that which He has granted you. May you show gratitude to the Bestower. May the child reach maturity, and may you be granted his righteousness. [1]

Transliteration:
Bārakallāhu laka fil-mawhūbi laka, wa shakartal-wāhiba, wa balagha ashu-ddahu, wa ruziqta birrahu.

In reply to the congratulation, one should say:

May Allah bless you, and may He send blessings upon you. May Allah reward you with goodness, may He grant you the like of it, and may He multiply your reward abundantly. [2]

Transliteration:
Bārakallāhu laka wa bāraka ‘alaika, wa jazākallāhu khayran, wa razaqakallāhu mithlahu, wa ajzala thawābaka.

Narration 2 :

Narrated from ʿUbādah ibn al-Ṣāmit (RA):

ʿUbādah ibn al-Ṣāmit (RA), who participated in the Battle of Badr and was one of the Nuqabā’ (leaders) during the Night of al-ʿAqabah, reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), while a group of his Companions were around him, said: “Give me the pledge that you will not associate anything with Allah, that you will not steal, that you will not commit fornication, that you will not kill your children, that you will not bring forth a slander which you invent between your hands and your feet, and that you will not disobey in anything good. Whoever among you fulfills this, his reward is with Allah. Whoever commits any of these and is punished in this world, that will be an expiation for him. And whoever commits any of these and Allah conceals it, then it is up to Allah: if He wills, He will forgive him, and if He wills, He will punish him.” So, we pledged allegiance to him on that basis.
