Some Ḥadīth related to Guidance:

Narrated from ‘Abdul Ḥamīd ibn Salamah al-Anṣārī (RA):

When he accepted Islam, his wife refused to accept Islam. They had a young son who had not yet reached maturity. The Prophet (ﷺ) seated the father here and the mother there, and then gave the boy the choice. The Prophet (ﷺ) then supplicated: “O Allah, guide him.” So the boy went to his father.

Narrated from Sālim ibn Abī al-Ja‘d (RA):

Ibn ‘Abbās (RA) was asked about a person who killed a believer deliberately, then repented, believed, did righteous deeds, and sought guidance. Would his repentance be accepted? Ibn ‘Abbās (RA) replied: “How can the repentance of a murderer of a Muslim be accepted? I heard your Prophet (ﷺ) say: On the Day of Judgment, the murdered person will come holding onto his killer, with his veins flowing with blood, and he will say: ‘O Lord! Ask this one why he killed me.’ Ibn ‘Abbās (RA) said: Regarding this Allah revealed the verse: [Arabic] – meaning: Whoever kills a believer deliberately, his recompense is Hell (Qur’an 4:93).”

He said, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) told me: “Say: O Allah! Grant me guidance and grant me the ability to act correctly.” And he forbade me from wearing a ring on these fingers – and he pointed towards the index and middle fingers.
