When entering a mosque, a Muslim should say the dua taught by the Prophet ﷺ, asking Allah for mercy.
Duaʾ (Arabic):
اللَّهُمَّ افْتَحْ لِي أَبْوَابَ رَحْمَتِكَ
Transliteration:
Allahumma iftaḥ lī abwaba raḥmatik.
Meaning:
O Allah, open for me the doors of Your mercy.
What is the dua to enter a mosque?
The authentic Sunnah duʿāʾ to enter a mosque is the same as above.

Send blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ (optional but recommended)
Then say the mosque-entry duʿāʾ
Example:
Bismillāh, was-salatu was-salāmu ʿalā Rasūlillāh.
Allahumma iftah lī abwaba raḥmatik.
What do people say in a mosque?
Inside a mosque, Muslims should:
Engage in dhikr (remembrance of Allah)
Recite Qur’an
Make duʿāʾ
Pray quietly
Avoid loud talk or worldly discussions
The mosque is a place of worship, peace, and reflection, not casual conversation.
How to respectfully enter a mosque?

Make wuḍūʾ (ablution) if possible
Wear clean and modest clothing
Remove shoes before entering
Enter calmly, without rushing
