“Be in This World as a Stranger – Prophet Muhammad’s Timeless Reminder About Dunya and the Hereafter”
Abdullah ibn ʿUmar (رضي الله عنه) said:
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ took hold of my shoulders and said:
“Be in this world as though you were a stranger or a traveler along a path.”
Ibn ʿUmar (رضي الله عنه) would say:
“When you reach the evening, do not expect to see the morning; and when you reach the morning, do not expect to see the evening. Take from your health for your sickness, and from your life for your death.
عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمٰنِ أَبُو المُنْذِرِ الطُّفَاوِيُّ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ الأَعْمَشِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مُجَاهِدٌ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ أَخَذَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم صلى الله عليه وسلم بِمَنْكِبِي فَقَالَ كُنْ فِي الدُّنْيَا كَأَنَّكَ غَرِيبٌ أَوْ عَابِرُ سَبِيلٍ وَكَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ إِذَا أَمْسَيْتَ فَلاَ تَنْتَظِرْ الصَّبَاحَ وَإِذَا أَصْبَحْتَ فَلاَ تَنْتَظِرْ الْمَسَاءَ وَخُذْ مِنْ صِحَّتِكَ لِمَرَضِكَ وَمِنْ حَيَاتِكَ لِمَوْتِكَ.

“What No Eye Has Seen, No Ear Has Heard – The Eternal Reward Allah Prepared for the Believers”
Abu Huraira (رضي الله عنه) reported:
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
Allah said: “I have prepared for My righteous servants what no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and what has never crossed the heart of any human. If you wish, recite: ‘No soul knows what has been hidden for them of comfort for the eyes’ (Qur’an 32:17).”
حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزِّنَادِ، عَنِ الأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ” قَالَ اللَّهُ أَعْدَدْتُ لِعِبَادِي الصَّالِحِينَ مَا لاَ عَيْنَ رَأَتْ، وَلاَ أُذُنَ سَمِعَتْ، وَلاَ خَطَرَ عَلَى قَلْبِ بَشَرٍ، فَاقْرَءُوا إِنْ شِئْتُمْ {فَلاَ تَعْلَمُ نَفْسٌ مَا أُخْفِيَ لَهُمْ مِنْ قُرَّةِ أَعْيُنٍ }”.
